These popular forms of dance, each with its own distinctive style, greatly appeal to a dancer’s need for freedom and self-expression. Jazz classes can include Broadway style, jazz/hip hop techniques and more lyrical approaches to movement. Classes consist of a thorough warm up, across the floor & center work focusing on flexibility, strength, musicality and technique.
Recommendation: We encourage jazz students to take at least two ballet classes per week, as this is widely recognized as a strong foundation for every dance form. Do not dismiss the necessity of strong classical technique in order to excel in other dance forms.
This fun and exciting American form of dance has its emphasis on rhythm and allows students to develop physical coordination and musicality. Tap classes include a full warm up and across the floor developing skills and techniques. Learn choreography from different backgrounds and approaches.
