Dress Code & What to Bring
For ballet classes, students should please wear,
Warm-up clothing (an extra layer of pants, leg warmers, light sweater) may be worn, especially in the colder months, at your teacher’s discretion. If you are permitted to wear warm ups, the expectation is that you will take them off once you are warm. They should not be worn throughout the whole class.
For all other styles, any athletic clothing is acceptable.
Hair may be worn in a ponytail or any style as long as it is neatly secured out of the dancer’s face.
Jazz, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre classes require jazz shoes, half-sole shoes, or barefoot.
Tap class requires tap shoes.
Hip Hop class requires sneakers (please use a pair of sneakers that you don’t wear outside all day at school to avoid tracking dirt onto the studio floors).
Acro for Dance requires barefoot.
Please bring a water bottle! We have a water filling station at the studio. And any snack your student might require.
Everything you require can be purchased at Swan Dancewear in Narberth or Motions Dance & Fitness Shoppe in Drexel Hill. Let them know you are from PSB and you will get a discount!

- Any color leotard
- Any color skirt if you like
- Pink or skin tone colored tights
- Pink or skin tone colored ballet slippers
- Advanced dancers will have pink or skin tone colored pointe shoes
- Hair neatly secured in a bun. If hair is not long enough for a bun, consider using hair clips or a headband.
- Boys should wear a white T shirt, black athletic pants, black socks, and black ballet slippers.
